Composite Door Cills, Thresholds & Frame Profiles
EXTERNAL CILLS
We offer a choice of two different size external door cills, the standard 150mm and the short 85mm stub cill. The size determines the projection from the front face of the frame at the bottom.
E.g. - A 150mm cill will protrude around 80mm from the bottom as 70mm sits underneath the threshold. Both PVC cills are 30mm in height.
When selecting a cill in our designer you do not need to make any adjustment to the overall sizes you enter, the cill is made up within this size.
THRESHOLDS
You have a choice of four thresholds, full frame (68mm), low frame (50mm), wheelchair (low 15mm aluminium) and wheelchair MDS25 (25mm aluminium). The threshold is what makes up the lower part of the door frame and is the bit which you step over to enter your property.
The pvc threshold means you will have a four sided door frame with the frame along the bottom. This provides the tightest and most thermally efficient weather seal as the door sits behind the frame on all four sides.
The aluminium threshold means you will have a three sided door frame with an aluminium piece to fit along the bottom.
Depending on what cill and threshold you choose, you need to make sure that the door clears the internal floor when it is opened.
Internal Clearance - Distance from the underside of the cill to the bottom of the door
