uPVC French Door FAQs
-
Our French doors are delivered prebuilt with the sashes prefit within the outer frame. The glass is delivered loose for fitting on site. Side panels and Toplights are made from one complete frame with the exception of where a low aluminium threshold is chosen. In this case, side panels will be supplied as separate frames that are to be connected to the main frame on site (jointing kits provided).

Yes, the sizes you enter are the overall sizes for your doorset. This includes the frame and cill (if chosen). E.g. A 900w x 2100h doorset is the overall size including the frame. This means that the door slab itself is smaller then 900w x 2100h due to the frame being incorporated into these sizes. This is also the same for side panels which are also surrounded by frame

uPVC French Door Measuring Guide
The width and height of your door you need to order, is the structural opening size minus a fitting tolerances.
We recommend you allow a 10 - 15mm fitting tolerance between manufacturing sizes and the smallest width and height dimension (please see images).
Use a large spirit level and measure the cross corners of the aperture to ensure the opening is square and true.
Take three width and three height measurements and minus 10 - 15mm from the smallest measurement measured on each dimension to determine the actual required manufacturing size of your door.
E.g., Structural opening 2015 x 2115mm, recommended size to order 2000 x 2100mm.
Please note that when ordering your doors the overall dimensions includes all components e.g. cills and add ons.
